Grandparents
Being a grandparent can be great fun. It often means more play time and less disciplining.
Eating healthy is important for children
Today, raising healthy children is harder. Sweets and desserts have become a daily habit instead of an occasional luxury. This can lead to unhealthy weight gain. Knowing this, you can help be a part of keeping your grandchildren as healthy as they can be.
Try not to offer sweets and snacks
When you see your grandkids, have healthy snacks on hand. Fruit slices dipped in a little peanut butter or veggies and hummus are great. Even a small bowl of popcorn (with light salt and no butter) is a good choice. Show your grandchild how to eat healthy.
Find fun ways to move with your grandchild
Go for a walk or a hike. Do a craft or science project together. Create an obstacle course in the yard and time how quickly they can get through. Offer non-food prizes, like colored pencils or a jump rope.
Make a healthy recipe together
