Eat five servings of fruit and veggies daily

Eating fruits and veggies is good for your overall health. They can help you lose weight, help lower your blood pressure and help with other medical problems. Look on the Healthy Me website for tips on how to eat more fruit and veggies.

Keep screen time to two hours or less a day

This rule applies to all screens: TV, computers, video games and cellphones. If you’re looking at a screen too much, you’re probably not moving around enough. We also suggest no screen time for children less than two years of age and no TV in a child’s room.

Move for one hour every day

Do physical movement that gets you to sweat, such as walking, running or biking. Build your muscles with gymnastics or pull-ups. Build your bone strength with jumping rope or playing soccer. Check out our website for more fun ideas.

Try not to have sweetened drinks

Even fruit juice labeled 100% fruit or organic has a lot of sugar. Soda should be left for special occasions like a holiday. For day-to-day choices, stick with water and low-fat milk or milk alternatives, like almond or soy milk.
